TOUR ASTRONÓMICO

I was fresh in town and overwhelmed with all the tour companies in San Pedro de Atacama. Luckily I found TURISMO MITAMPI! Ana helped me set up an absolute gem of a trip. I went to the Geysers, hiked Cerro Toco, and did the afternoon Valle de la Luna sunset tour. All 3 tours were outstanding, and had great guides. The highlight of my trip though was the trek of Sairecabur. Ana and the team really worked the lines trying to set this up for me. They came through in the clutch, and found me an awesome guide (Carlos). I have a lot of mountaineering experience, but this was another monster. Really challenging, but worth the reward at the summit! Shout out to Juan and Julian as well as the whole team. Gave me great advice on everything to do in town, and made for a great San Pedro de Atacama experience!

What a fantastic team ! We used this company for all of our tours in San Pedro De Atacama and they were fantastic. So helpful, obliging, informative. Just lovely people. A big shout out to Juan and Anna in particular who helped us with our tour and travel planning. Our tour guide, Franco was " the best"! So knowledgeable and passionate. Has all the best attributes of a tour guide. Great knowledge, narrator and passion for what he was showing and sharing with us, Added additional elements to the tours, engaged with everyone and was constantly aware of the group, other groups and used this awareness to make the groups experience the best it could be. A great company. ( The boss even makes some of the lunches) Well done and thank you .. ohh and I forgot to add, the food and refreshments were awesome!

We enjoyed the tours, especially piedras rojas and Tatio Geysirs as well as Moon Valley! Guides spoke English really well and were super enthusiastic. Members of the agency were helpful and friendly.

We booked a very nice tour to the sairecabur volcano. Our guide Juan was very professional and friendly. We had a great time. Although the ascent to the top is only 400m it is very challenging due to the high altitude, loose gravel in steep locations and cold temperatures. The included breakfast and snack was delicious. Would definetly do again!

A bad way to finish our time in San Pedro. We took a Stargazing tour which was not good at all. We booked it through another agency (Dune Atacama, which was kind enough to eventually refund the tour) but the experience was not at all as described by Dune: the guide was a nice lady but very far from being an astronomer, very very basic information. There was supposed to be an aperitif buffet but all we found was some crisps and a half thermos of hot water that by the end of the tour was empty and everyone was freezing. The cherry on the cake? We were told by Dune that there would have been 3 telescopes. The only one available was broken so we couldn’t even see the stars as we wished…a total waste of time.

I have done 4 different tours with Mitampi and couldn’t be happier ! Moon valley, Tatio geyser, star gazing, & cejar lagoon. Every single tour was magical ! The scenery of course, but also the organisation and the tour guides ! They were all extremely nice, caring and spoke English (which is rare in latin america). I highly recommend this agency without any hesitation ! great quality, very decent price and amazing time guaranteed!
